Co-codamol

I was prescribed Co-codamol after my operation to help keep the pain away. It worked well for me and would recommend this medication.
i take this only when the pain is hard to bear but not on a regular basis
I have been in sufferance from constant gout pain for over two years. It disturbed my sleep. Regularly I was overcome by sleepiness during the day yet was unable to sleep at night owing to the discomfort of gout. Sleepiness, during the day, would overcome me quickly and frequently was unable to concentrate on any topic. Sage was helpful and so too were painkillers but all were short-lived and often not effective. Last evening my wife encouraged me to try Co-codamol (30/500mg) prior to retiring and for the first occasion I slept all night pain-free. It is almost twenty-four hours since taking this product and its relieving effect continues to benefit me. I am almost scared not to take it again this evening. I can understand why users can become addicted to it. I will keep some by my bedside and use only the smallest effective amount whenever necessary. The warning about being addictive is noted. It is a relief knowing that something helps.
I was discharged with this analgesic medication having been on morphine post op then codeine and paracetamol. First took quite regular and it was quite effective for pain. Side effects can be constipation, so took Senna x 2 and dried apricots worked fairly effectively. Then once pain reduced used just paracetamol.
This is the only over the counter medication that I have found effective against a sinus headache. It does knock me out, though, so I would not recommend it if you need to work or drive whilst recovering.
